DO YOU BELIEVE IN GOD?
A question that will answer many questions, specially pertaining to the ORIGIN of LIFE, man’s ultimate scientific quest.
Until this very day, questions upon questions piles up in man’s professed knowledge and intelligence leading to theories upon theories of the CREATION of the UNIVERSE. An unending debate of finite minds, limited by things that are seen…
They try to explain and many had already assumed that a big bang… a great explosion can cause PERFECT order in the universe, that a non-life can produce a PERFECT living organism, that something that is dead can produce something that is PERFECTLY alive, that nothing produces something, that disorder produces PERFECT order in nature and that man evolved from a single cell and are descendants of apes, or trying to answer what came first a chicken or an egg...
Does this makes sense?
How can we arrive at a final conclusion of everything… of every questions in this world regarding our existence…
Well, thank God for the Bible…
As it is written in the Book of Hebrews of the New Testament in God’s Word’s, God said: “Now FAITH is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen… by FAITH we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible” (Hebrews 11:1-3).
Through FAITH in the Word of God, the Bible we can understand, not just the answers to our questions of origin of life but also to the purpose of God’s creation. The Bible is God’s divine revelation of TRUTH and it gives us the only reasonable answer to the question of origins. Further more let it be emphasized that the Bible account of creation is to be taken literally, not mystically or parabolically, and that every known fact of science or history can be placed within the Biblical framework.
And truly , the very first chapter of the first book of the Bible opens with these majestic words:“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1). There, in a nutshell, is the answer to man’s questions “where did everything come from?”
Through FAITH in the Word of God, the existence of God as Creator is both reasonable and in harmony with the facts of science and of human reasoning.
FAITH in God as Creator is reasonable because a creation requires a creator. If one sees a lovely, well built house, he does not say, “I wonder how that house came into existence.”He knows that the existence of the house means that someone built it. This is also true of our world.The fact that it exists requires that there must be one who built it. As it is written in scriptures: “For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God” (Hebrews 3:4).
Faith in God as the Creator of all things is reasonable because life can only come from life!Everyone understands that that which is dead cannot produce that which is alive. ONLY LIFE CAN PRODUCE LIFE! Either the origin of everything came from dead, non-living, non-thinking matter, or it came from mind, intelligence, life… therefore, GOD. What do you think?
Does a nest create a bird to sit in it, or does the bird, a living being, create the nest?Does a car make a man to drive it, or does the man who is living and intelligent create the car?It is totally unreasonable to believe that the earth which is filled with living plants, animals and persons, was brought into being by dead matter.However, it is very reasonable to believe that a supreme, intelligent Being, God, brought into existence the universe and the wonderful varieties of life which live in it.
FAITH in God is reasonable because the universe has design, this means there was a designer. Clothes have a design because they have a designer. If they came about accidentally, there would be no design. However, because there is design, there has to be a designer, there has to be a PERFECT Creator because of the unity of His creation, the seasons, climate, plant life, sea life, and even human life, all live side by side on planet earth and each complements the other for survival. Even the stars, the planets, the moon, the earth and sun are all placed at just the right distance for unison and harmony. That if ever the sun was much closer, the earth would be destroyed by severe heat. Yet, if the sun was much further away the earth would freeze over.
Truly, how amazing is God’s creation.
And lastly, FAITH in God is reasonable in creation because of His master piece, God’s greatest creation, a creation of a dual being… both physical and a spiritual being… both having a mortal body and an immortal soul.
As it is written: “ Then God said, “let US make MAN in our image, according to Our likeness, let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air and over the cattle, over all the earth and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created MAN in His own image, in the image of God He created Him; male and female He created them.” (Genesis 1:26-27)
Again, we read, “And the Lord God formed man out of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul” (Genesis 2:7).
To understand this we must be aware of the fact that God is a Spirit (John 4:24), and when it says man was created in His image that means God gave man something that was likened unto Himself, He placed within man an inner being, an immortal being, a soul which would never die… a soul that would be accountable for all transgressions or lawlessness of God’s instructions and commands (SIN) in the appointed end of days. A soul that would be judge by His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ (John 12:48), whether destined for eternal heaven with the Creator or eternal punishment in the fiery furnace of hell (Matthew 25:41-46, Mark 9:43-48, Matthew 13:40-42, Revelations 14:9-11 & 21:8).
Truly man is a special creation for man was created with the Creator’s love (John 3:16) and specially to those whom He calls His children… Christians ( 1Peter 2:9-10, Romans 8:19-22).
And together with this spiritual charge for man is a duty for man… the purpose of all God’s creation, as it is written: “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and the fowl of the air, and every living thing moveth upon the earth” (Genesis 1:28).
All these creation by God… God’s purpose of creation… all for man.
Therefore, let us all humble ourselves before our Creator “Who made the world and everything in it” (Acts 17:24). Let us acknowledge that “in Him we live and move and have our being”(Acts 17:28).To deny the existence of God is the greatest of all foolishness!
Truly, “The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God’” (Psalms 14:1).
